Here is the second fill idea based upon The Six Stroke Roll. The first fill was the Motown fill.
In this installment, we simply take the basic rudiment and place the accented notes on either the toms or the cymbals. This can be used effectively for a fill or even a solo. In the last blog I mentioned Steve Gadd’s use of rudiments in his playing. This idea is certainly used by the great man with excellent results.
